Vergüenza de agencia y vergüenza de atención de los chicos que estan en los mostradores.
NO RESERVEIS NADA CON ESTA COMPAÑIA.
Nos obligaron a pagar un seguro adicional ( cuando ya llevabamos coche y seguro pagados de antemano), por que decian que nuestra Targeta de credito Mastercard no era valida porque no era de ningun banco.
Nos obligaron a pagar un seguro adicional de ellos y entonces decian que si que nos daban el coche. CUIDADO TIMADORES¡¡

Subcontratan a empresas explotadoras de limpieza de vehículos, los empleados forzados a trabajar más de nueve horas de las que sólo cobran ocho y con suerte. El convenio se lo pasan por el cimbrel (pero ojo, no son los únicos de la zona). Los lavadores trabajan sin respiro debido al volumen de alquileres, sin apenas descansos, en unas condiciones pésimas y, lo más gracioso de todo, no tienen parking para que puedan dejar su propio coche. Los encargados obligan a aparcar en las cunetas de la carretera. Es que es de chiste.

Blatant fraud and the worst car rental experience imaginable!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Goldcar has been nothing short of a nightmare and an example of how NOT to run a business.

First, the car I rented was handed over in an absolutely filthy condition. The exterior was so dirty that it was nearly impossible to properly inspect for pre-existing damage. Add to this the dim lighting in the parking garage, and you're left with a perfect setup for Goldcar to blame the customer for damages they didn’t cause.

Despite the poor conditions, I carefully inspected the car and identified three pre-existing damages that weren’t noted in their report. One of these was even dismissed by their staff member, who refused to document it because it was "superficial" and could be wiped off with his fingers. Fast forward to my return, and lo and behold, they’re trying to charge me for damages in the exact same locations.

Let’s be clear: these charges are completely baseless. The suggestion that I somehow managed to scrape the car in three separate places over the course of just a few days is absurd. The burden of proof lies with them, and yet they seem to rely on bullying customers into paying for damage they didn’t cause.

What’s worse is the realization that this is not an isolated incident. A quick glance at their Trustpilot score (a pathetic 1.9) confirms that this predatory business model is the norm for Goldcar. They bait customers with deals through airlines and then use underhanded tactics to claw back money through false damage claims.

I have rented cars in Spain for years with other companies and have never encountered such a shady and unethical operation. Goldcar’s practices border on outright fraud, and I intend to report this to my credit card provider and relevant authorities.

Save yourself the stress, time, and money—DO NOT RENT FROM GOLDCAR. This company represents everything wrong with the car rental industry.

À fuir. Ce sont des voleurs. Ils nous ont forcé à payer un conducteur additionnel parce que sois disant d’après eux le permis ´n’était pas en assez bon état ‘ on a pas eu d’autres choix que de se faire arnaquer.

DO NOT USE GOLDCAR!

I urge anyone reading this honest review NOT to use this car hire service no matter what £$€ you think you might be saving.

I was charged €210 for a deep clean to a passenger seat that no one sat in the entire duration of my hire. I even took a photo when collecting the car but was assured I would NOT be charged (see photo).

Firstly, you will be pressured to take out a high-cost insurance and threatened that ANY damage to the car will result in a loss of your deposit. ‘Some’ hire car companies might pay their representatives comission to sell insurance at a huge mark up even if you have already taken insurance with an App like RentalCar OR are already covered by a credit card service.

The Vehicle.
I was given a car that looked as though it had been in a serious road traffic accident including damage to the roof!!!

When I complained to the Goldcar representative in the office they said ‘Don’t worry, it drives okay and you will not be charged for any damage because every panel of the body work is already affected’.

What I hadn’t accounted for were the human sweat mark stains on the passenger side that would not be included in the map of ‘damage’ to the vehicle so I took a photo for my own records as I felt that this was unhygienic and did not want to be held accountable when returning the vehicle (again, please see photo as evidence).

When returning the car (at 5.30am) to the airport, I could not get the vehicle checked and had to drop the keys in a box.

One hour later I received an email charging me €210 for a deep clean due to the state of the passenger seat - that I had documented and questioned when I picked the car up.

Customer Service
As of 2nd November, almost 6 weeks later, I have not been able to get in touch with a human being at Goldcar.

They have ignored all my emails and any further investigation sends me to an email address which no one answers.

It is impossible to speak on the telephone with someone and they will not call you at all.

Please also note, that if they reply to this review, they will advise that I click on a link which is a landing page to a site that suggests I send an email to the address that I have been emailing since September…..with absolutely zero response (see photo of previous responses to review).

In attempts to post an honest consumer review Goldcar have also blocked it several times citing ‘gibberish’ and ‘repetitive content’. If only they put as much effort into customer service as they do censoring feedback and reviews.

In my experience, Goldcar make their money from renting out damaged vehicles then charging the customer for that damage made unless you take out their very costly insurance.

Pay the extra money and go with a reputable hire car company. This is an overcharging business model with non existent customer service.

Dear Goldcar, I am not going to stop attempting these honest reviews until this factual recount of my consumer experience is permanently on Google.
